I'm going to have to research onions! I've got a couple left that my kids didn't pull out. Maybe I'll experiment with them and see what happens!Michelle @ Simplify, Live, Lovehttp://www.simplifylivelove.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-329908845377588283.post-68493905765522288412011-08-09T15:29:47.819-05:002011-08-09T15:29:47.819-05:00PS - where do you live where you can let broccoli ...PS - where do you live where you can let broccoli go to seed? I haven't really done this before...Hi Michelle,
I haven't really done this before, but my understanding is that the "onion sets" you buy in the spring are actually onions that were grown from seed the year before, dried over the winter, and then you plant them yourself the next spring - so that's what I'm trying to do with these little onions I'm growing from seed (except I think I'll just leave them in the ground - I've left onions in over winter before and they've come back fine.)Ruthhttp://thecheerfulagrarian.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-329908845377588283.post-86046655043828210822011-08-09T14:44:25.093-05:002011-08-09T14:44:25.093-05:00I've done this with broccoli. Mine looked a lot like yours until my kids picked them all today. Are you saying that they could have been left like that over the winter and then harvested next fall? Sorry if that's a stupid question, I've just never raised onions before.
Thanks!Michelle @ Simplify, Live, Lovehttp://www.simplifylivelove.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-329908845377588283.post-70330845529557148522011-08-08T19:11:54.141-05:002011-08-08T19:11:54.141-05:00Great post.
